Air service is of little use

(Article published in the South Wales Evening Post, Tuesday 9th March)

The leader of Wales’s Green Party has called for the subsidised air service from North to South Wales, to be scrapped following news the Assembly is struggling to re-franchise the service.

Jake Griffiths said: “It has proved to be of little use in bringing North and South Wales together, benefiting only a handful of Assembly Members and business people.”

He added: “This money would be much better spent on improving the Cardiff to Holyhead rail service or as a first step to re-opening the former rail link, investing in a study to re-open the rail link between Bangor and Caernarfon.”
